Access

The Barry Law Library is for the exclusive use of the Barry University Community and licensed bar members only.

The Barry University Community consists of students, faculty, staff, and alumni. Attorneys must show a bar card and check in at the Circulation Desk.

Use of the library is intended for access to those resources unavailable at other regional public libraries to which a visitor has access.

During the week prior to and during final examinations, only currently enrolled students, faculty, staff, and alumni may access the Law Library. Written permission for access during this time for other researchers must be arranged in advance.

Restrictions

Visitors may not use the Law Library during the final exam and reading period.

Policies

All patrons are required to abide by the following library conduct policies:

  • All visitors must show a bar card.
  • Visitors must sign into the log book at the Circulation Desk and sign out upon exiting the building.
  • Destroying or damaging materials is unlawful and may result in criminal penalties.
  • Animals – only guide dogs and service animals are permitted.
  • Use of library staff equipment is not permitted.
  • Loitering, soliciting, and advertising is not permitted.
  • Use of Law Library computers are restricted to currently enrolled Barry Law students, staff, administrators, and alumni with a current Barry alumni login.

If asked by an employee and/or security guard, visitors must state a valid reason for utilizing Law Library resources.
