Library Services and Resources for Distance Education Students: Finding Books

This LibGuide will provide valuable information on library services and resources available at the Monsignor William Barry Memorial Library

Search for eBooks

Google Books: Previews are available for some books.

Internet Archive/Open Library: Non-profit library of millions of free books, movies, software, music, websites, and more.

Search for Print Books

  • Search Library Catalog:  Search for books available at your library.
  • WorldCat: Search for books that are also available at other libraries. You can get book from a SEFLIN member library (see below "SEFLIN Card"), or request books through interlibrary loan.  If you are not sure how this works, please contact a librarian.

If the book is not available at Barry, and is available at a Southeast Florida Library Information Network (SEFLIN) member library, current Barry students, faculty, and staff are allowed to check out the book from most SEFLIN member libraries.  All you need is a SEFLIN card (the card is available at the circulation desk) and your current Barry ID.

Interlibrary Loan

If you are unable to visit a SEFLIN Member Library, you also have the option to request the book using interlibrary loan service.
