Faculty Liaison Program

The Faculty Liaison Program was created to give faculty members the opportunity to address library and research-related needs with a designated Liaison who serves as their primary contact person with the Library.

Each department/program is assigned a Reference Librarian as a Liaison, and throughout the academic year, the Liaison will periodically contact their assigned faculty members to discuss their needs. Liaisons will attempt to schedule short meetings in the weeks leading up to each new semester, and then as requested beyond that. Liaisons will also provide regular updates on the Library’s collection and services relevant to the faculty member. All Barry Reference Librarians have Master's degree in Library and Information Science.

Library Liaisons can provide faculty the following services for faculty:

  1. Bibliographic instruction on research best practices, developing information literacy skills, identifying relevant and valid information, and general overview of library services. These lectures can be delivered both in the classroom or online.
  2. Developing collections to support the teaching, learning, and research needs of faculty and students.
  3. Discipline specific research consultations and reference assistance.
  4. Creating or updating research guides specific to your class material or program in general.
  5. Communicating changes in library services and resources.
  6. Assistance with all things library.

Feel free to contact the liaison librarian for assistance, we're here to help!
