II. Historical note

The first appearance of Interdisciplinary Studies in the Barry catalog was in the 1991-92 undergraduate edition. Majors were offered in International Studies, Liberal Studies, and Pre-Law. Listed as non-degree programs were Honors Program, Humanities, Peace Studies, and Women's Studies. In 1997, the Honors Program was listed independently, no longer with interdisciplinary studies; and in 2000, Africana Studies was added to the interdisciplinary program.

 

III. The Collection

Included are files for the Interdisciplinary programs of Liberal Studies and Pre-Law & International Studies –now these last two can be found within History and Political Sciences. There are also files for the non-degree programs of Peace Studies, Women's Studies, and Africana Studies.
