Barry Law Library Faculty Services: Electronic Resources

A guide to faculty services provided at the Barry University School of Law Library, where "We Empower Discovery."

Accessing Westlaw, LexisNexis, and Bloomberg Law

To access Westlaw, LexisNexis, and Bloomberg Law, you may simply log into them with your usernames and passwords, without accessing the intranet first.

Please contact Reference Librarian Jason Murray at jwmurray@barry.edu to be set up with a Westlaw account. Contact your Liaison or any of the Reference Librarians at LawReferenceLibrarians@barry.edu for help setting up LexisNexis, Bloomberg Law, or any other accounts.

Accessing Barry E-mail Remotely

Faculty can access their Barry e-mail accounts from any computer, on or off campus.  Just go to http://webmail.barry.edu/ and select "Faculty / Staff WebMail" at the top of the list.  Then log in with your Barry e-mail address and password.

(We recommend you bookmark http://webmail.barry.edu/ or add it to your favorites.)

If you do not yet have a Barry e-mail address (which would be your first initial followed by your last name @barry.edu, such as lrosen@barry.edu), contact the School of Law Information Technologies department: Doug Brucker and Owen Gregory.

Accessing Research Databases through the Law Library website

Faculty may access the Barry Law Library subscription databases and other electronic resources from our alphabetical list at  http://eguides.barry.edu/LawLibraryDatabases, but you still need to log into the Barry intranet in order to access most of them.

From off campus, to access the intranet, faculty members must first go to http://go.barry.edu and log in with your Barry username (the prefix of your e-mail address) and password.  That will authenticate you as a Barry user and allow you to access many of our databases.

(We recommend you bookmark http://go.barry.edu or add it to your favorites.)

If you do not yet have a Barry e-mail address (which would be your first initial followed by your last name @barry.edu, such as lrosen@barry.edu), contact the School of Law Information Technologies department: Doug Brucker and Owen Gregory.

Some databases, including HeinOnline, require you to access them through the Databases page on the Law Library website. For others, including CALI and SSRN (as well as WestlawLexisNexis, and Bloomberg Law), you may simply log into them with your usernames and passwords, without accessing the intranet first.

Please contact your Law Librarian Liaison or LawReferenceLibrarians@barry.edu if you have any problems accessing anything.
