This guide will help you to navigate the resources and services provided by Monsignor William Barry Memorial Library.  If you have any questions, suggestions, or concerns please contact me at mnembhard@barry.edu, or 305-899-4051.

A "citation" is the way you tell your readers that certain material in your work came from another source. It also gives your readers the information necessary to find that source again, including:

• information about the author
• the title of the work
• the name and location of the company that published your copy of the source
• the date your copy was published
• the page numbers of the material you are borrowing

Please keep in mind that it is still your responsibility to double-check the computer generated citations to be certain that they are correct.

Writing an excellent research paper can be a tedious process.  After deciding on a topic, refining the topic, getting the professor's approval of the topic, and gathering the relevant information; the next step is to organize the information in an effective manner, and citing the sources used.
