II. Biographical note
Sandra Southmayd, from Hamden, Connecticut, graduated from Barry in 1963 with a major in Physical Education. She was active in a variety of campus organizations, and was president of the RAA (Resident Athletic Association) in her senior year. She was a member of the Tara Singers, the Sodality Council, and many sports teams, especially tennis. After graduation from Barry she received a Master's degree in Guidance from Fairfield University and returned to Miami to work in the Dade County Public School system for many years.
